As a young teen growing up in Rome, Ga., Jane Forsyth knew what was important in her life. Led by her love for the Lord, Jesus Christ, she has dedicated her life to helping children.
Jane graduated from Georgia State University and entered upon a 20-year teaching career. She has taught kindergarten, first grade and children with behavior disorders, as well as hospitalized and homebound children.
In her classroom she saw children who were victims of poverty and social problems she knew she couldn't solve. She believed there was a need for spiritual training, and knew she could not provide that guidance in the public school classroom.
She began a small Bible club for the underprivileged youngsters in 1991, which met in a small community room on the side of a housing development in West Bainbridge. From that small beginning came the focus of her entire life, Friendship House of Jesus.
